Meet Katelyn

Hi! I’m Katelyn and I am so happy to meet you! I am the founder of Rooted Salon and I’m so glad you landed on this page.

I’m an Emmaus High School graduate who has always had a strong affection for the art of hair dressing. Born and raised in Allentown, Pennsylvania, I graduated from Empire Beauty School in 2007 and began my career in the Lehigh Valley right away. My husband, Brandon, and I opened Rooted in the spring of 2017 and had the honor of being voted “Best Women’s Salon’ four consecutive years; 2017-2020.

Some of my professional accolades include my studies at Vidal Sassoon in New York City and Toronto. I was a scholarship winner for Beauty Changes Lives and was awarded a week long training on precision haircutting. I hold multiple certifications for the latest techniques, including balayage, foilayge, and gray blending. I am well versed in Wella Professional hair color as this is the line I’ve worked with for the entirety of my career. I pride myself on being versatile and enjoy the variety that each guest’s hair brings to my chair.

As founder, I believe that the customer experience and service go hand-in-hand to loving your new hair. I strive to make sure everyone that enters the salon feels welcomed, relaxed, and pampered.

While I am not in the shop, you can find me wiping runny noses and cleaning up the messes of our three year old daughter and eight month old son. My husband and I are both Lehigh Valley natives that have been married since 2013. I jokingly mention that my hobbies include running a business and taking care of my family. In my (imaginative) free-time, I love to read, be outdoors, or enjoy a family-friendly adventure.
